The planes flew a nearly continuous cover of Mille Atoll during the night--one plane taking off early in the evening and spending two hours and 40 minutes over the target, the second spending approximately the same time liter in the night after the first plane had returned to base.  Runs on the target area on Mille Island were made constantly during the night, a total of 50 runs being made by the two planes.  Runs were interspersed with reconnaissance flights over the remaining islands of the atoll.  The runs were made from all directions and bombs, rockets, etc. were released at 3,000'.  All ammunition was seen to hit the island but darkness, altitude, and poor weather prevented accurate damage assessment.
