RESULTS:  (For all claims made on ship targets of special interest, draw diagram, top or side view or both, as appropriate, showing type and location of hits.  For all targets give location and effect of hits, and identify by number above.  Use additional sheets if necessary)

PBJ-1H made run from S.E to N.W. over center of Aineman Island firing 4 75mm shells using APG-13 sight during approach and dropping 4-500# G.P. while over target.  All shells hit in target area, one bomb was long and landed in lagoon.  Gasoline storage was reported in the area but no fires or explosions were observed.

One plane of this squadron took off at 0830 with 19 F4U's of VMO-155 to escort them on a strike to Jaluit landing on Tarawa.  Bad weather was encountered almost from the start and over the target the weather was so thick that glide bombing had to be substituted for dive bombing.  The PBJ followed the fighters over the target making a combined cannon and bombing run from south to north over Aineman Island the target being reported gasoline storage and the road and other installations.  Four 75mm shells were in the target area and three 500# G.P. bombs landed on the island.  The fourth bomb went long and went into the lagoon.  No damage was observed.  The PBJ then circled while the Corsairs made their reconnaissance and strafing runs.  Join up was accomplished south of Jaluit Atoll at 9000 feet and the flight proceeded toward Tarawa.  About 90 miles southeast of Jaluit a front too excessive to avoid was encountered and it was decided to return to Kwajalein.  The flight landed at Kwajalein 1310 Mike.
